Newels

Newels support the handrail of a stairway or railing system.   There are many different types and styles of newels and the newel chosen depends of the type of application, such as post to post or over the post, being used in the stairway or railing installation.

Post to post means the handrail is mounted between the newels and in an over the post system the handrail runs continuously over the newels.
